WE NEED PICTURES GIRLS!
and we need them now!
Now we have asked, but we've got nothing so we are going to have to take some at some point, any ideas? Nikki and I are getting some more editing at the moment and i think that we are pretty happy with it right now!
We have made the DVD stealing scene much better so it looks like its being caught on cctv or something, i'm happy with it!
Okay girlies so get back to me on the pictures? :)

First draft of poster.

This is the first digital draft of our poster, we have chosen very vibrant colours and fonts to reflect that the program features young, energetic characters and will also be watched by young, energetic people.  The ovals are where images of our characters will be placed (as we have chosen to prodominantly promote the characters to entice viewers).  It is intended to be shown on a Tuesday night as it is a night when young people are more likely at home and not out at parties etc.  To be shown at 10.00pm so that storylines can be approached that would not have been appropiate before the watershed- storylines that reflect issues that many of the target audience would have come across.

Poster research (Emma)

This hollyoaks poster (a soap with a similar target audience to our soap and is also intended for Channel 4 viewers) clearly shows the Hollyoaks logo to convey what the poster is advertising.  They have an emphatic declarative as their slogan so that their viewers will remember the message.  They have chosen to focus strongly on their characters.  Promoting them will entice readers of this text to want to watch the soap as a whole.  Therefore to emulate this proven marketing method we have also chosen to promote our just the characters on our poster instead of storylines involving them.

Audience feed back

After our first draft, we had some audience feed back. Here are some of the audience's view.

TAGLINE (Nikki)

Heey guysss. So we came up with a lot of tag lines, however i chose this one for a final, as it also goes well with the picture and also makes the audience curious about what all the secret is about. I chose the girly font for the tag line as most of our target audience is female.

Tell me what you guys think?

POSTER (NIKKI)

This is what I've done so far.  I thought instead of having the boxes different colour, as it would look almost too childish and it would attract a younger audience, below 16.  I made it grey and added strips of colour so it still attracts teenagers and young adults and it looks more professional.
I need your pictures in so I can add themmm!!! HURRRYYY
xoxo

guuyssss i've got the party scenes sorted (:
can we meet up to do the pregnancy scene again?
how about thursday lunch?

2ND IDEA FOR POSTER (NIKKI)

We already decided on the style Emma previously posted. However, I also had another idea, Having the name of our soap being 'Mixed up' we could have all our characters take a head shot photo and then take each parts of the face and  mix them up? It is an idea, and we can try that out too.
How do you guys feel??

PICTURES

Hey guys! We have to have another meeting to finish our video footage! When are you guys free? And I need your pictures in for the poster ASAP!!

GREEK

http://abcfamily.go.com/shows/greek
This is a popular american show about uni life that we can use as inspiration, as the show has smiliar target audience and as it is popular in america, we could westernise it and bring it to biritain, making it popular here, since as far as our reasearch goes britian lacks shows portraying uni life. However, we are still researching.

3 main ideas for soap.

1 - Hairdressers - The soap would take place in a salon. The storylines of the soap would feature all the gossip that the staff and regular clients talk about and hear. Audience will all be females around ages of 18 - 30.

2 - Mechanics - As soaps are normally a female dominated genre, we could challenge this and appeal to a male audience. This soap would take place in a workshop about the daily hassles of the  men that work there. Audience will all be males aged 18 - 30.

3 - College - There isnt many soaps aimed for teenagers, therefore this soap could explore the lives of trouble teenagers. Audience would be mostly female but some males aged to 16-24.
